Prayer....& Family

So, last night I was awakened at 2:40am. I always hate it when I wake up in the middle of the night. I was awakened due to fire truck sirens. I hate hearing them - especially in the middle of the night. I began to wonder where they were, considering they sounded very close by, and also wondered what had happened. A short time later our dog began to growl. This always freaks me out because dogs can sense and hear things we can't. I was also upset, because I had gotten to bed later then planed and whenever I wake up in the middle of the night it always throws me for a loop the next morning. My mom had always taught me that when I wake up in the middle of the night and can't seem to get to sleep to start praying. So, that's what I did. I prayed. I prayed first for whoever was in trouble, that they would be okay. I prayed for some friends of mine who have been struggling to have a child of their own. Then I began to pray for my family. I prayed for my brothers and their wives & kids, I prayed for my sisters and their kids. I prayed for my parents, and then I prayed for my husband & my girls. By this time I was loosing track because I was beginning to fall asleep. I love how praying can calm the spirit when there are things going on around us that we aren't sure whats happening. I love how prayer causes you to focus fully on God and know that he is listening to you. I remember thinking to myself and scolding myself for not doing this more often. Praying for people I love & care about. Not only praying for them, but letting them know I'm praying for them and that I love them. So, to my family & my friends I love you & I am praying for you!

Nyla singing ABC's

Ok, this is gonna be my last post for today, but I've been dying to share Nyla singing her ABC's.
She does a great job for an almost 2 year old! Enjoy!

Spring is Here!

Yesterday, I took some pictures of Kali & Nyla while they blew bubbles and enjoyed the outdoors. I attempted to take one of them together- but that didn't work out so well...I have a feeling that we won't get a "good" picture of the two of them together until they are a little more grown up! Oh well.

Happy Easter!

Our Easter weekend has been filled with lots of fun & business, but this morning I took the the time to remind my kids what the true meaning of Easter was all about. I found a recipe from "Women Living Well" blog by Courtney called "Resurrection Rolls". Here are some pictures of Kali making them. Happy Easter everyone & take time today to remind yourself & your loved ones what Easter is truly about! HE HAS RISEN!

Resurrection Rolls Ingredients:
1 can of Crescent Rolls
8 large marshmallows
melted butter
cinnamon & sugar

Take one triangle section from the crescent rolls - This represents the tomb
Take one marshmallow - which represents the body of Jesus
Take the marshmallow and dip it in the butter & cinnamon/ sugar mix - This represents the oils and spices the body was anointed in upon burial.

Lay the marshmallow on the crescent roll and carefully wrap it around the marshmallow. Make sure all the seams are sealed(otherwise the marshmallow will ooze out..which happened to us..)

Bake rolls according to package directions. Let cool. Break open & the body of Christ is no longer there!

Try # 2

So, Here we go again... This is my second attempt at getting this blog going. I guess I didn't feel like I had as much to talk about before as I do now. HA
My passion lately has been to get back to my roots of Graphic design and photography. So, here in the near future, I have a feeling I will have lots of posts soon. Until then, I guess my followers (which are zip btw) will have to deal with any rants I may come up with until then.
